CTOnews.com, March 3 (Xinhua)-- US fresh ecommerce company Instacart will add OpenAI's ChatGPT chat robot technology to its grocery delivery app to improve customer service, marketing and other automated tasks, according to the Wall Street Journal.

On Wednesday, local time, Instacart said it would use the chat robot in a new search engine designed to answer users' questions about food, such as recipes, ingredients or healthy eating.

According to reports, through ChatGPT's language software, the search engine's answers will be presented in a dialogue, not just a list of search engine results. The company said it expects to launch the new feature, called Ask Instacart, later this year.

In addition, Instacart told employees earlier this week that total sales handled on the platform last year were $29 billion, up about 16% from a year earlier, and that the company made a net profit in the fourth quarter, with adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization of more than $100 million (currently about 687 million yuan).
