CTOnews.com, March 3 (Xinhua)-- Apple's official blog in China released a new blog post showing the preliminary results of women's health research, which it hopes to promote discussion and scientific research on the menstrual cycle.

The preliminary results mentioned in Apple's official report attached to CTOnews.com are as follows:

Researchers at Harvard University's Chen Zengxi College used data from the Apple Women's Health study to advance scientific understanding of persistent irregular menstruation, PCOS, endometrial hyperplasia and cancer.

In a preliminary group analysis of more than 50000 participants, the team found:

12% of the participants reported that PCOS had been diagnosed. Participants with PCOS had a four times higher risk of endometrial hyperplasia (precancerous lesions of the uterus) and a 2.5 times higher risk of uterine cancer.

5.7% of the participants reported that they did not have a regular menstrual cycle until at least five years after menarche. Compared with people who reached regular menstruation within one year after menarche, participants in this group had more than twice the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and 3.5 times higher risk of uterine cancer.
