Intel released a temporary patch to fix the intermittent outage of network cards such as I225 and I226.
CTOnews.com March 3 news, Intel today released a patch to fix intermittent network outages for motherboards equipped with Intel I225, I226 and Killer E3100 2.5GbE cards. Intel said it would follow up on the issue and provide users with proper fixes.
The motherboard with Intel I225, I226 and Killer E3100 2.5GbE cards reported intermittent network outages in January this year, and the previous mitigation solution was to turn off Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) mode.
At present, the Intel Raptor Lake motherboard is mainly equipped with the latest Intel I226murv network card master. Intel has narrowed the scope of the problem and confirmed that it is caused by the energy-saving function.
The Intel update shared by Chi11eddog said it included mitigation measures to "disable energy efficient Ethernet (EEE) for 1Gbps / 2.5 Gbps". You can make this adjustment yourself in the advanced Windows / Linux driver settings, but the downloaded patch may be more refined because it still seems to apply EEE at the speed of 100Mbps.
MSI has updated the driver for motherboards such as MPG Z790 Carbon WIFI: the driver version number for Windows 11 is v2.1.3.3 and the driver for Windows 10 is v1.1.4.38. The link to CTOnews.com is as follows:
