CTOnews.com learned from Audi Chinese officials that the Audi Q6 e-tron, the first all-electric model, will be completed at the Ingolstadt plant starting this year. By 2029, all Audi's own production bases around the world will produce at least one pure electric model. Starting from 2033, Audi will phase out the production of internal combustion engine models according to local conditions.

Audi China said the new plant would be built in the face of demand for expanded capacity. In China, for example, Audi and its local partner FAW are building a new plant in Changchun, which will be Audi's first base in China to specialize in pure electric models.
