The representative suggested that electronic ID cards should be popularized throughout the country to achieve "one mobile phone takes the world".

According to CTOnews.com news on March 5, on March 3, Zhu Zhengfu, a deputy to the National people's Congress, president of the alumni association of Wuhan University, and a senior lawyer, suggested that the existing online identity authentication platform and QR code verification equipment be used to promote the application of electronic ID cards across the country, so as to make it more convenient and safer for people to travel.

Zhu Zhengfu has prepared five proposals this year, among which "the proposal to popularize electronic ID cards nationwide" is the focus. He believes that electronic ID cards can not only avoid the trouble of forgetting or losing physical ID cards, but also reduce the risk of fake certificates and theft, and improve the efficiency and quality of government services.

He said that the Ministry of Public Security has established a trusted identity authentication platform (CTID platform) to provide authoritative, credible, secure, and convenient network identity authentication services for various industries, and to dock with local government service platforms. At the same time, a large number of QR code verification equipment have been installed in various localities to prepare the hardware conditions for the verification of electronic ID cards.

CTOnews.com noted that Zhu Zhengfu has put forward a three-level plan for the popularization and application of electronic ID cards: the first level, the use of electronic ID cards instead of legal documents such as physical ID cards in government affairs, hotels, airports and other places; and the second level, the use of electronic ID cards in other occasions based on identity information, such as student ID card, senior citizen card, social security card, etc. The third level is to use electronic ID cards in safe places, office buildings, residential apartments and other occasions that require traffic authority authentication. " "A mobile phone goes all over the world" is his expectation for the universal application of electronic ID cards.
