CTOnews.com, March 5, the 2023 World Mobile Communications Congress (MWC 2023) held in Barcelona, Spain ended on March 2, local time. During the four-day exhibition, a self-driving travel service from a German start-up company attracted attention.

According to the CCTV financial report, the service is called "remote driving". CTOnews.com notes that unlike the traditional concept of self-driving, the service does not allow the car to drive automatically, but allows the staff to operate the console in the remote simulation warehouse through the 5G network to issue instructions to the car and control the driving of the car. In this way, users do not have to worry about parking and other problems, just book a car on the mobile phone, you can enjoy a convenient and fast travel experience.

Thomas, the company's chief executive, said their goal is to solve traffic problems in big cities. "We want users to feel like they are driving, just get out of the car and leave after arriving at their destination, and the rest will be done by remote drivers."

The company is also the first company in Europe to test "remote driving" on public roads, and at this year's MWC 2023, they showed a real-time demonstration of staff remotely controlling an electric car in Berlin, Germany. In the future, the company plans to launch a service that combines driverless taxi and car rental functions to ease traffic pressure and parking problems in big cities.
