According to the PCIe sampling test results conducted by foreign science and technology media TechPowerUp on GeForce RTX 4090 and Core i9-13900K platforms, there is a 2% difference in performance between "x16" and "x8".

PCIe Gen4 x16 has 16 data channels, while PCIe Gen4 x8 has 8 data channels. In theory, the performance of PCIe Gen4 x16 should be twice that of PCIe Gen4 x8, but this is not the case.

On the GeForce RTX 4090 GPU and Core i9-13900K CPU platforms, TechPowerUp tested a number of new games that support ray tracing, including "Elden Ring" and "isolated Island 6". The results show that there is little difference between Gen4 x16 and x8 modes, with the biggest difference being "isolated Island 6", which reached 8.3%.
