Recently, a number of netizens on the short video platform have posted videos saying that Foxconn in Shenzhen is dismantling eight production lines, and many agents have also received layoff notices. Foxconn told them not to recruit temporary workers any more. The production line is going to be transferred to India.

It is worth mentioning that CTOnews.com3 reported on May 5 that the Wall Street Journal quoted senior Indian government officials and other sources as saying that Foxconn was considering a major expansion in India, including opening new plants and increasing the number of iPhone assemblies. Hon Hai plans to increase the annual production of assembled iPhone in India to 20 million by 2024, tripling the number of employees to 100000, according to people familiar with the matter. At present, the annual output of the factory is about 6 million iPhone.
