CTOnews.com, March 9 (Xinhua)-- Salcomp, a contract manufacturer that once made 5W charging heads for Apple's iPhone, has announced a move into electric car chargers to expand its manufacturing business in India, according to DigiTimes.

CTOnews.com reported in February that Salcomp of Finland, a supplier to Apple, plans to more than double its workforce in India to nearly 25000 in the next two to three years.

The latest report points out that the scale of India's electronics manufacturing industry is expected to exceed 300 billion US dollars in the next three years, while Selcon is optimistic about the development prospect of the Indian market and expands its manufacturing business in India, which is estimated to generate 3 billion US dollars in revenue.

Selcon said that after expanding to 25000 people, it will be involved in the manufacture of "hybrid electronic equipment and components" as well as "solar micro inverters" and power accessories for electric vehicles.

Selkang did not disclose customer information about the new products, but foreign technology media NotebookCheck believes that Selkang may provide chargers for Apple Car.
