CTOnews.com March 10 news, MediaTek today released business data for February 2023, February sales of 30.31 billion New Taiwan dollars (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 6.85 billion yuan), down 24.3% from the same period last year.

MediaTek consolidated revenue of 22.383 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 5.059 billion yuan) in January, down 42.1 percent from the previous month and 48.5 percent year-on-year; revenue in the first quarter is expected to be 93 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 21.018 billion yuan) to 101.7 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 229.84 billion yuan), down 6 percent from the previous month and 29 percent from the same period last year.

Tsai Lixing, CEO of MediaTek, said at the legal conference that there was an opportunity for business to improve in the second quarter. At this stage, we have seen a slight pick-up in demand for TVs and WiFi, and the first quarter of this year is expected to be the lowest point for MediaTek's annual operation.

In addition, Cai Lixing expects more flagship mobile phone chips to be unveiled and infiltrate into more markets, the market share of flagship mobile phones will continue to increase in 2023, and 5G penetration will benefit from emerging markets such as India and Southeast Asia. It is expected to increase to 55% from nearly 50% last year.
