Microsoft executives responded to the situation that some Bing chat account applications were not approved for a long time: they will not be approved without filling in birthday information.
According to the news from CTOnews.com on March 11, many CTOnews.com users reported that some accounts have been chatting with Bing for a month and are still on the candidate list; some accounts have been approved on the same day. Michael Schechter, vice president of Microsoft Bing, said, "Please check whether your Microsoft account contains birthday-related information."
Schechter tweeted: "if your Bing chat application has not been approved for a long time, please check whether your Microsoft account has filled in the birthday information. We can't approve your application without knowing your birthday."
CTOnews.com flipped through the user comments on the tweet, and many users thought Microsoft was inappropriate. One Twitter user said Microsoft could have asked users to disclose their age when signing up for a trial Bing experience, rather than asking for birthday information on the Microsoft account profile page.
