CTOnews.com, March 11 (Xinhua)-- Google announced in January 2022 that it will introduce Fast Pair for Chromebook, which is finally available to users in the ChromeOS 111version update. Google has started pushing, which is expected to be completed in the next few weeks.

Fast Pair (fast matching service) was first launched by Google for mobile phones in 2017. Google had planned to launch Chromebook in 2019, but it has been shelved for a variety of reasons.

The service is used for fast pairing when a Bluetooth device is approached for the first time using low-power Bluetooth technology. It was announced in October 2017 that it was originally used to connect audio devices such as speakers, headphones and car kits to the Android operating system.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that after Chromebook was updated to the ChromeOS 111version, ears such as connecting Pixel Buds Pro will be reminded in the lower right corner of the screen. Starting with ChromeOS 111, Google says Fast Pair is currently "designed to work with supported Bluetooth audio devices and Chromebook that supports background scanning."
