Automaker Stellantis is in talks to produce electric cars in Spain

CTOnews.com March 13, according to Reuters quoted the Spanish newspaper Cinco Dias reported that the carmaker Stellantis is in talks with the Spanish government on the production of small electric cars in the country.

According to the report, Stellantis is negotiating the conditions for the project to receive state assistance. Stellantis did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Stellantis Group brands include Abbas, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroen, Dodge, DS, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, Vauxhall, Free2move and Leasys.

Stellantis currently has factories in cities such as Madrid, Vigo and Zaragoza to assemble Opel, Citroen and Peugeot cars.

Financial data show that Stellantis Group achieved net profit of 16.8 billion euros (CTOnews.com note: about 123.984 billion yuan) and adjusted operating profit of 23.3 billion euros (currently about 171.954 billion yuan) in 2022.
