CTOnews.com March 14 news, Tesla is now releasing the fourth quarter 2022 safety report. Tesla Autopilot's accident interval mileage decreased in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the previous quarter, but improved compared with the fourth quarter of 2021.

According to Tesla, users using Autopilot technology had an average of one accident per 4.85 million miles (CTOnews.com Note: about 7.8053 million kilometers) in the fourth quarter, while for drivers who did not use Autopilot technology, Tesla recorded one accident per 1.4 million miles.

By contrast, recent data from NHTSA and FHWA (since 2021) show that about one car accident occurs every 625,000 miles in the United States.

Although this data shows that Autopilot can effectively reduce the incidence of car accidents, it is not difficult to find that Tesla's figure dropped to 4.85 million miles from 6.26 million miles in the third quarter, indicating that Tesla owners had more frequent car accidents during the fourth quarter.
