Nintendo: legend of Zelda: tears of the Kingdom is definitely worth it for $70
CTOnews.com March 14, Nintendo Switch platform game masterpiece "Legend of Zelda: tears of the Kingdom" will be officially released on May 12. The US version is priced at $69.99 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 480 yuan). This is the first time that Nintendo's standard digital Switch game charges more than $59.99.
For this breakthrough pricing, Nintendo US President Doug Bowser said that the Legend of Zelda: tears of the Kingdom can prove that its $70 price tag is reasonable.
"I think fans will find it an incredibly complete, immersive experience," Doug Bowser told the Associated Press. "the pricing reflects the type of experience fans can expect when playing this particular game."
According to CTOnews.com, after the price of Legend of Zelda: tears of the Kingdom was announced, a Nintendo spokesman said that $70 was not necessarily the new standard for first-party Switch games and that the company would determine the suggested retail price of its products "on a case-by-case basis."
"this is not a price that we have to have for all our games," Doug Bowser said. "it's actually a fairly common pricing model, and pricing may vary from game to game here, in Europe or elsewhere in the world."
It is worth noting that Sony began to raise the price of first-party games to $70 when the PS5 was launched in 2020, while Microsoft began to raise the price of first-party Xbox Series X / S games to $70 this year.
"Legend of Zelda: tears of the Kingdom" Hong Kong Service eshop Mall sells for 499 Hong Kong dollars (currently about 437 yuan) and supports the purchase of any loss coupons.
