CTOnews.com, March 15 (Xinhua)-- according to the official account of the China Lunar Exploration Project, the sixth batch of lunar samples from the Chang'e-5 mission has completed preparations and is now releasing relevant information online.

The public can access the lunar and deep space exploration scientific data and sample release system to obtain relevant information and apply for scientific research samples by visiting the Chinese lunar exploration and deep space exploration network, Chinese lunar exploration officials said.

On December 17, 2020, the Chang'e-5 sample module successfully landed in Siziwang Banner, Inner Mongolia, China, bringing back 1731 grams of lunar samples. This is the first time that China has completed the collection of extraterrestrial celestial samples, and it is also the first time that human beings have brought back new lunar samples in the past 44 years. The first batch of samples was distributed to domestic scientists on July 12, 2021. Five sample distributions have been completed, totaling 198 65.1 grams.

CTOnews.com has reported that the first research results, released in October 2021, have gained a subversive understanding of the age of volcanic activity in the landing area and the nature of the source region, and a total of four papers have been published in Science and Nature.
