CTOnews.com, March 16 (Xinhua)-- Apple has increased its investment in sports events and has bought streaming rights to many sports events, including MLB Friday Night Baseball and MLS Season Pass.

It was reported in February that Apple was "interested" in buying NBA streaming rights. However, according to the latest report from foreign technology media The Information, although NBA has sold broadcasting rights to a number of streaming platforms, Apple has not yet decided whether to participate in the bid.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that NBA plans to sell streaming rights, including exclusive streaming rights in the United States and the rights of two US television channels, in a bid to more than triple revenue.

NBA currently works mainly with ESPN and Warner Bros. Discovery on US television channels, but both companies are looking to reduce spending and propose cuts in sports spending as a way to achieve this goal.

Amazon and Google have expressed interest in bidding for the streaming rights of NBA, and the report points out that Apple has not yet decided whether to bid for NBA broadcasting rights.
