Android O is nearing completion: the last developer preview release of DP4
Google's Android mobile system never stops moving forward, and today the company released the fourth developer preview of Android O, the last preview before the final release of Android 8.0. The official end date for summer is September 22, so speculation is that Android O is expected to debut before then.
Dave Burke, vice president of Android engineering, said that the fourth developer preview will cover all the system features of the final version, and the official version will be based on BUG fixes, background performance optimization and API adjustments. Over the next few days, Google will also make minor updates to the SDK, tools, and Android Emulator system image. In addition, the new Android Testing Support Library will add several features to simplify app testing.
The only devices currently eligible for beta Android O Developer Preview are the Pixel and Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C, and Nexus Player.
