According to CTOnews.com, the "Gaofen 13" satellite is a high-orbit optical remote sensing satellite developed by the Fifth Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, which aims to provide information services for the development of China's national economy.

This mission is the 468th flight of the long March series of carrier rockets.
