CTOnews.com, March 19, according to CRRC, the industrialization project of medium and low voltage power devices started on March 18 in Yixing Economic Development District, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province.

CRRC said that the project covers an area of 357mu, with an investment of nearly 5.9 billion yuan in the first phase. the products are mainly used in the field of new energy vehicles and are expected to be put into mass production next year.

According to reports, after reaching production, the project can increase the annual production capacity of 360,000 pieces of medium and low voltage components, meet the annual installation demand of 3 million new energy vehicles or 300GW new energy power generation, and solve the problem of autonomy of core components of new energy vehicles in China.

CTOnews.com learned from CRRC officials that the Yixing Municipal people's Government signed a cooperation agreement with Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Semiconductor Company in September 2022, and the medium and low voltage power device industrialization (Yixing) construction project was officially launched. CRRC Times Electric previously issued a foreign investment announcement that the total investment of the project is more than 10 billion yuan, which is invested by Zhuzhou CRRC Times Semiconductor Co., Ltd., of which the total investment in the first phase of Yixing project is about 5.826 billion yuan.
