The Japanese White Rabbit-R M1 lunar lander has completed its last orbit correction and is expected to land on the moon by the end of April.
CTOnews.com, March 19 (Xinhua) 07:58 on March 17, Beijing time, the White Rabbit-R (Hakuto-R) M1 lunar lander of ispace Company of Japan completed its fourth and last orbital midway correction command, which also means that it has completed all the planned deep space braking operations before entering lunar orbit.
At present, the lander maintains a stable attitude in the scheduled orbit, and has completed the preparatory work before entering the lunar orbit. It is planned to berth and brake the lunar orbit at the end of March, and is expected to land on the moon by the end of April this year.
According to CTOnews.com reports last year, the White Rabbit-R M1 lunar lander was launched by SpaceX Falcon 9 on December 11, 2022, carrying the United Arab Emirates' first lunar rover, Rashid, which has been flying for more than three months. At one point in January this year, it flew as far as 1.4 million km from Earth.
According to reports, Mission 1 set 10 milestone node tasks from launch to landing, and strive to achieve the perfect standard. Officials say that even if some problems occur during the mission, the following Mission 2 and Mission 3 tasks will continue, which will contribute to the next Artemis project.
