Developer Kunos Simulazioni and publisher 505 Games confirmed as early as 2021 that a sequel to the enduring realistic racing game "Magic Kosa" will be ushered in, but there has been no news of the document.

By late December 2022, sales of the Shinlikosa series had reached 28 million, generating revenue of $112 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 772 million yuan).

Developer Kunos Simulazioni chose to develop a custom game engine for Shenli Kesa 2. Marco Massarutto, co-founder of the studio, explained in a 2022 podcast interview why he didn't upgrade to Unreal engine 5:

It will not use the latest Unreal engine 5, and we are developing new technology for the engine of Shenli Kosa 2. We will not use unreal engines because we need more flexibility. Unreal engines are a great technology, but we are used to the way we work. We like to think of ourselves as technology providers, not just game developers. We prefer to work on our own technology because it allows us to create the specific tools and racing simulations we need.
