CTOnews.com March 21, Apple rejected updates to the "Broadcasts" app on the grounds of "similar names." Broadcasts is an application that has been online for 2 years and is mainly used to provide Internet broadcast and real-time streaming media.

Steve Troughton-Steve Troughton-Smith, the developer of the app, recently submitted a regular update to the app "Broadcasts" to Mac App Store, but to his surprise, he received a rejection from "ITMS-90129".

The code means that the app uses an already occupied bundle name or display name, mainly if the submitted app is similar to Apple's official app name.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that the "Broadcasts" app has been on Mac App Store for more than two years, making it easy for users to listen to various Internet broadcasts and providing podcasts from platforms such as Relay.fm.

Steve Troughton-Smith shared with us that the whole thing might have been a mistake, but at the same time he resubmitted the application for review.

Update: Apple approved the resubmitted "Broadcasts" app update. But Apple did not provide other reasons behind the initial refusal or later approval.
