Beijing, March 21 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft will only focus on cloud gaming services to address antitrust concerns over its $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard by the European Union, according to sources familiar with the matter on Monday, local time. Sony is not mentioned.

Microsoft has been trying to allay European Commission concerns that the deal could reduce competition between game consoles and personal computers, PC operating systems and cloud game streaming services. However, Sony is not mentioned in the solution, a phenomenon that shows that the European Commission is no longer worried about competition in the game console market.

Microsoft submitted a proposal to the European Commission last week, but the company did not disclose details. Microsoft has provided a 10-year license agreement for its cloud gaming service, according to sources.

EU authorities have told competitors and customers to provide feedback by the end of the week and will make a decision on the deal by May 22, the sources said.

Microsoft's EU solution is narrower than the one it has proposed to UK competitors, including licensing deals for cloud gaming services and a 10-year agreement for Activision's call of Duty franchise to critics and PlayStation owner Sony to equalize content and quality.

Other sources with direct knowledge of the deal said it was possible for the European Commission to accept the licensing deal and approve it, but it was unclear whether UK regulators would accept such so-called behavioral remedies.
