CTOnews.com March 21 news, AMD recently released Ryzen 5.01.29.2026 chipset driver update for Win10 / Win11 platform, especially for the recently released 7000X3D series processors, optimizing the performance of several Ryzen processors.

After releasing the optimization for the Win10 / Win11 platform, AMD released another update for the Linux platform a few days ago, introducing Pstate (performance state) into the Collaborative Processor Performance Control (CPPC) mechanism in the Linux kernel.

CTOnews.com mini-class: CPPC (Collaborative Processor Performance Control) is a mechanism defined in the ACPI specification, which allows OS to actively manage the performance of CPU according to CPU load. OS communicates with firmware through a shared memory mechanism, and firmware converts the request performance to the corresponding actual frequency after receiving the message. Among them, firmware generally runs in a separate mcu.

At present, AMD CPPC has two modes: Active (autonomous) and Passive (involuntary). Now AMD has added Guided (autonomous) mode, which can balance the above two modes. This mode provides the required performance under specific workloads, such as passive mode, without ignoring the range of minimum and maximum performance levels.
