CTOnews.com, March 22, according to the latest report released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the global renewable energy generation capacity will reach 3372 gigawatts (GW) in 2022, an increase of 295 gigawatts (GW) compared to 2021, and an increase of 9.6% over the same period last year. Renewable energy accounted for 83% of the new electricity generation last year.

Hydropower: renewable hydropower capacity increased by 21 gigawatts (+ 2%), in line with previous years.

Wind energy: an increase of 75 gigawatts (+ 9%) in 2022, and wind power growth continues to slow compared with the previous two years.

Solar energy: almost all of the solar power generation increment in 2022 comes from solar photovoltaic (Solar photovoltaic), in which solar photovoltaic increases 191GW.

Bioenergy: 7.6 gigawatts in 2022, compared with 8.1 gigawatts in 2021, a slight slowdown

Geothermal energy: geothermal energy increased by only 181 megawatts.

Off-grid electricity (Off-grid electricity): installed capacity increased by 1237 MW (+ 11%) to 12.4 GW in 2022.
