Desktop environment GNOME 44 release: improved setup applications and Quick Setting menus
CTOnews.com March 23, the GNOME team today officially announced the GNOME 44 desktop environment. The new version is code-named "Kuala Lumpur", where the web browser Epihaphy has been migrated to GTK4, and a new grid view is enabled when the application calls the system GTK folder filter.
CTOnews.com learned from the report that GNOME 44 has further improved the Quick Setting function over version 43, making it easier for users to connect and disconnect devices through Bluetooth buttons, and to easily view their status.
GNOME 44 has also made a number of improvements to the setup application (GNOME Control Center), which now supports sharing Wi-Fi connections through a QR code on the Wi-Fi panel, a new location selector has been introduced in the date and time panel, the firmware version fields are displayed in the kernel and about panel, and the default application panel can manage SMS / call default applications.
