At noon today, Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingyi released a message that although all iPhone 15 / Pro series models use the same smart island design as the iPhone 14 Pro series, but the difference is that iPhone 14 Pro places proximity sensor (CTOnews.com note: close range sensor, used for functions such as pocket breath screen, etc.) under the screen / outside the smart island, while the iPhone 15 / Pro series has almost no change in the smart island area. Put the proximity sensor on the smart island.

Guo Mingyi also said that IQE will replace Lianya as the exclusive supplier of epitaxial wafers (epi wafer) for iPhone 15 / Pro series proximity sensor.

According to previous revelations, although iPhone 15 Standard Edition and iPhone 15 Plus will receive a new smart island design, they will retain the standard 60Hz refresh rate screen and will not support AOD display. Another differentiation factor is the chip. The iPhone 15 Pro model is expected to upgrade to the A17 Bionic, while the iPhone 15 standard version will upgrade to the 2022 A16 Bionic chip.
