According to reports, most of the hardware of DS423+ is similar to DS418 NAS. The DS423 + is powered by an Intel Cy Young J4125 processor (4-core 2.0~2.7GHz) with 2 GB DDR4 of memory and can scale up to 6 GB.

The DS423+ is compact, measuring only 166 mm x 199 mm x 223 mm and weighing 2.18 kg. In terms of interface, in addition to two RJ45 gigabit LAN ports, it also provides two USB 3.2 Gen1 interfaces, which can hold a total of four 3.5in or 2.5in SATA SSD or HDD, and can install two M.2-2280 SSD (maximum 226MB/s read speed and 224MB/s write speed).
