CTOnews.com Microsoft has announced that it has signed a CarbonCapture contract to launch Project Bison in 2024. The project will absorb carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere and store it underground. Microsoft hopes to achieve its goal of absorbing more carbon dioxide than it emits by 2050.

The Bison project plans to build a large CO2 absorption unit in Wyoming, USA, to absorb CO2 directly from the air. Microsoft officials have not disclosed specific details of the project.
