CTOnews.com, March 25 (Xinhua)-- babies aged 0 to 6 spend an average of 100 minutes a day watching screens (including tablets, mobile phones and televisions) in 2022, an increase of seven minutes compared to 2021, according to a new survey.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that research shows that 1/4 of parents of 0-to 1-year-olds say their children spend at least two hours a day on the screen.

1/5 of infants use digital media for more than 3 hours. According to the official guidelines of the World Health Organization, children under the age of 2 should not look at the screen and children under the age of five should not look at the screen for more than one hour a day.

The study also shows that the use of digital media is often closely related to sitting still, and that sedentary situations increase as children get older. 1/4 of children aged 0 to 6 are active while watching TV, and half are active when listening to music or podcasts.
