The first "Hualong No.1" nuclear power unit in western China has been put into operation.
CTOnews.com, March 25, according to CCTV news, the first "Hualong No.1" nuclear power unit in western China, Unit 3 of Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Station of China Guangzhou Nuclear Group Co., Ltd., has been officially put into operation.
06:55 on March 25th, with the successful completion of the 168h trial operation test, Unit 3 of CGN Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Station officially had the conditions for commercial operation. With the commissioning of the unit for power generation, CGN has reached 27 nuclear power units in operation, with an installed capacity of more than 3056 kilowatts.
According to reports, the Fangchenggang nuclear power project is the first nuclear power project to be built in western China and ethnic minority areas, and it is a key project for the large-scale development of the western region and Guangxi. The project plans to build six million kilowatt nuclear power units, and two units in the first phase of the project were completed and put into operation in 2016, with a total of more than 100 billion kilowatt-hours of clean energy on the Internet. The two units in the second phase of the project adopt "Hualong No. 1" technology, and the annual power generation of a single unit is nearly 10 billion kilowatt-hours.
It is estimated that after the first and second phases of the Fangchenggang nuclear power project are completed and put into operation, the annual power generation will exceed 34.5 billion kilowatt hours, which can meet the annual electricity needs of 5.87 million people, and can reduce the consumption of standard coal by more than 10.4 million tons per year. Reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 28.56 million tons, and environmental benefits are equivalent to planting 78000 hectares of forest.
