CTOnews.com, March 26 (Xinhua)-- in addition to offering a variety of food and beverages, retail brand 7-Eleven has now launched its own fast charging network to provide more choices for electric car owners.

7-Eleven recently announced that it will install 7Charge, one of the largest charging networks in the convenience store industry, in some stores in North America. The network will support both CCS and CHAdeMO charging standards and is suitable for most electric vehicles. Tesla owners can also use the charging network as long as they wear the CCS adapter. 7-Eleven has also launched a 7Charge application that makes it easy for users to find and pay for charging services. At present, the network has opened 32 charging stations in California, Colorado, Florida and Texas, with a maximum charging power of 90 kilowatts.

According to CTOnews.com 's understanding, 7Charge charging piles will be built on parking spaces near the store, and staff will be arranged for 7 × 24 hours. 7-Eleven officials said that at present, the vast majority of charging piles in the United States are located along highways, and 7Charge's ultimate goal is to bring charging piles to the community, so they have chosen to build a charging network based on stores. In addition to the 7-Eleven store, all its gas stations will also be equipped with charging piles.

The company did not say how many charging stations it plans to build in the end, or the expected rate of growth. Currently, there are more than 9400 7-Eleven stores in the United States and more than 560 in Canada, and the company did not specify how many charging piles will be installed in each store.
