According to news in the morning of March 28, Beijing time, Snap, a developer of instant social software Snapchat in the United States, has hired Rob Wilk, a former Microsoft advertising director, as president of the company's American region, reporting to Jerry Hunter, chief operating officer. This is the top advertising sales position at Snap, and Snap has been looking for a successor to the position after executives Jeremi Gorman and Peter Naylor moved to Netflix last year.

Rob worked at Microsoft for nearly eight years and was global advertising director before leaving in early March.

Advertisers have reduced their expenditure in the general environment, and the rise of TikTok has also eroded the advertising market share of Snap, so the growth of advertising revenue of Snap is facing a severe task. After joining Snap, Rob will face a huge test. Snap's overall revenue in the fourth quarter of last year was $1.3 billion, the same as in the same period in 2021.
