CTOnews.com, March 28, Microsoft today announced that it will provide Avatars for Microsoft Teams applications in the form of a public preview.

Users can create 3D animated models that do not appear in front of the camera during video calls or meetings, but as avatars.

Microsoft began private testing in October 2022, inviting only some users to test the avatar function. Microsoft then continued to improve the hair, lighting and other details of the model to make it look more realistic based on user feedback.

Microsoft has also added accessories such as wardrobes and headgear to restore user portraits more accurately. CTOnews.com previously reported that these three-dimensional avatars are supported by the Mesh mixed reality (MR) platform.
