And the relevant media also mentioned in the report that in February this year, although South Korea's overall exports declined for five months in a row, cars performed well, with exports reaching a new high and surpassing semiconductors. South Korea's exports became the highest in that month.

According to the report, cars overtook semiconductors to become South Korea's largest source of exports in February for the first time in nearly six years.

According to data released by South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, South Korean car exports did increase sharply in February, driven by a surge in exports of new energy vehicles.

In February, South Korea exported 62861 new energy vehicles, up 61.1 per cent from a year earlier, while exports totaled $2.02 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 13.918 billion yuan), up 83.4 per cent from a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. South Korea exported 222934 cars in February, up 34.8% from a year earlier; exports totaled US $5.59 billion, up 47.1% from a year earlier and a record high.
