According to CTOnews.com news on March 30, Tesla has performed well in the Norwegian electric car market, setting a new record for sales in March, accounting for nearly half of the market share. This is mainly due to strong sales of its Model Y model.

According to the Norwegian Road Federation (OFV), Tesla sold about 5639 Model Ys in March as of March 26, breaking the all-time high of 5315 Model 3s sold in March 2019. Tesla sold a total of 5993 new cars in March, surpassing the monthly sales record of 5822 in March 2019. It is worth mentioning that there are still a few days in March that are not counted.

Tesla led the way in passenger car sales in Norway in the first three months of 2023, selling 7565 as of March 26. Volkswagen came in second, with 3072 sold so far this year. Of all the passenger cars, the Model Y is the best-selling model, with 6911 sold as of March 26.

BilNytt.no calculates that Tesla's market share in Norway in March was about 46.4 per cent. According to statistics from January to March 26, Tesla's market share in Norway was 34.1%, up from 12.2% in 2022.

Tesla's sharp increase in sales in March has a lot to do with his price reduction. The US carmaker cut the price of the Model Y by 120000 Norwegian kroner (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 79212 yuan), which was welcomed by consumers.

Tesla has always been the market leader of electric vehicles in Norway and has reached a new milestone this year.
