CTOnews.com April 3, Canon today released a firmware upgrade plan for the CINEMA EOS series of cameras, involving R5 C, C70 and C500 Mark Ⅱ / C300 Mark Ⅱ. Canon said it hopes to further improve the performance and application advantages of the above cameras through this firmware upgrade.

CTOnews.com learned from Canon's official Weibo that the main contents of the firmware update for R5C cameras are as follows:

Update matching support when multiple RF servo electric lenses are matched with EF-EOS R071x

Supplement the differences with EOS R5 firmware, except for photo and anti-shake related content

When shooting VR video, switch between left and right pictures when zooming in

Support magnification when recording 8K MP4 format (2x)

Shorten the switching speed between video / photo modes

New power saving mode

Improve the resolution of clear scanning (improve flicker)

Add digital telephoto additional mirror function (1.5x / 2x / 2.5x / 3x)

Support to change waveform / vector oscilloscope size (normal / 2x) and transparency

Function expansion of SDI-Out Port

Improve the autofocus performance of AF

Add custom image settings (Canon709)

Added G gain adjustment option for white balance

Added the option to switch focus objects through the fuselage dial or lens control ring

Add 4CH display support for audio meters.

It is important to note that this firmware update will begin in mid-June, first to R5 C, and then to C70, C500 Mark Ⅱ, and C300 Mark Ⅱ in early July.
