CTOnews.com, April 3 (Xinhua)-- Byte Jump earned more than $80 billion in 2022 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 550.4 billion yuan), up more than 30 percent from about $60 billion in 2021, according to The Information.

Foreign media pointed out that this is mainly due to the growth brought about by Tik Tok, its Chinese version of TikTok--, which means that byte-jumping revenue is comparable to that of China's iconic Tencent 2022. Of course, the growth of most technology companies slowed in 2022, with Tencent's revenue falling 1 per cent year-on-year to 554.55 billion yuan last year.

It is said that the vast majority of byte-jumping revenue growth comes from its core advertising business on Chinese mainland, which now has hundreds of millions of daily active users, and revenue from the core advertising business has increased 2.5-fold from 2021 to about $10 billion in 2022.

In contrast, YouTube advertising revenue rose 1 per cent to $29.2 billion over the same period, while Meta advertising revenue fell 1 per cent to $113.6 billion.

The report also pointed out that the expansion of the byte e-commerce field has led to rapid growth in performance, with Douyin e-commerce transactions totaling 1.41 trillion yuan last year, up 76% from the same period in 2021. It is worth mentioning that this news has been refuted by Douyin. Douyin e-commerce official said that this is false news.
