CTOnews.com April 7 news, Musk has stepped up the ban on third-party Twitter clients after taking the helm of Twitter. Twitter officially announced today that it will shut down the traditional free API, affecting many applications and websites.

Musk had planned to shut down free API in February, but it was delayed for a variety of reasons. In March this year, Twitter was in the process of adjusting API, which led to a failure of the platform.

Twitter officially announced today that it will abandon the traditional free API, making it impossible for applications such as Post News and Substack to log in using the Twitter account.

According to foreign science and technology media Engadget, Jetpack Social (a WordPress plug-in), Echobox, Flipboard and Social Bearing have also been affected.

Twitter says it will continue to offer free Twitter API in the future, but only 1500 tweets per account per month. The company said the decision was made to "improve quality, reduce spam and achieve a prosperous ecosystem".
