Airbus has won a large order for 160 civil aircraft in China and will build a second production line in Tianjin.

CTOnews.com, April 7 (Xinhua)-- Airbus announced that it has signed a bulk procurement agreement with China Aviation equipment Corporation (CAS) for 160 Airbus civil aircraft, including 150 A320 series aircraft and 10 A350-900 wide-body aircraft.

Airbus predicts that China's air traffic will grow at an average annual rate of 5.3 per cent over the next 20 years, significantly higher than the world average of 3.6 per cent. Between now and 2041, China's demand for passenger and cargo aircraft is expected to reach 8420, more than 20 per cent of the total global demand of about 39500.

CTOnews.com learned from officials that Airbus has signed a new cooperation agreement with China's aviation partners to build a second production line in Airbus Tianjin to expand the final assembly capacity of the A320 series of aircraft. At present, Airbus has four A320 series aircraft assembly facilities around the world, which are located in Hamburg, Germany, Toulouse, France, Mobile, USA and Tianjin, China.
