Tesla energy storage super factory project settled in Shanghai: annual production of 10,000 batteries, start construction in the third quarter
According to CTOnews.com on April 9, the Tesla energy storage super factory project was settled in Shanghai Lingang New area. Wu Xiaohua, Deputy Secretary of the Party work Committee of Lingang New area, and Tao Lin, Vice President of Tesla Company, signed a contract on behalf of both sides.
CTOnews.com learned from the official that the Tesla Energy Storage Super Factory will plan to produce Tesla's super large commercial energy storage battery (Megapack). At the initial stage, it is planned to produce up to 10,000 commercial energy storage batteries per year, with an energy storage scale close to 40GWh, and the products will cover the global market.
The Tesla energy storage superfactory project is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2023 and start production in the second quarter of 2024. At present, Tesla has seven major factories around the world, including five super factories, a Fremont factory in California and a Megafactory battery factory.
