Jay Chou sued NetEase for unfair competition and held a court hearing on April 17.

CTOnews.com April 10 news, information shows that recently Guangzhou NetEase computer Systems Co., Ltd., NetEase (Hangzhou) Network Co., Ltd., Hangzhou NetEase Lei Huo Technology Co., Ltd. added a court notice, the cause of the case is unfair competition dispute, the plaintiff is Zhou Jielun and Jewell Music Co., Ltd., the case will be heard in the Binjiang District people's Court of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province on April 17.

CTOnews.com noted that on March 21, Tencent Music released its 2022 annual report, and the renewal of its contract with Jay Chou's copyright holder, Jay Fang, was also included in the annual report. From the perspective of public information, platforms such as NetEase Yun Music are not licensed by the relevant works of Jay Chou. At present, Jay Chou's songs cannot be played in NetEase Yun Music.

It is worth mentioning that in 2019, Tencent sued NetEase for Jay Chou music infringement, and the court ordered NetEase Yun Music to compensate the plaintiff Tencent Music for economic losses and reasonable expenses to stop the infringement totaling 850000 yuan.
