Apple Smart Ring Patent exposure: opening documents, scrolling and other interactions in VR scenes based on gestures

CTOnews.com, April 12 (Xinhua)-- according to a list published by the US Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has recently obtained a design patent related to a "smart ring", numbered "US 11625098 B2".

This smart ring patent mainly serves augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) scenarios, users need to wear a smart ring in the left and right hand, through the built-in sensor interaction, to detect the user's gestures, so as to achieve the corresponding operation in the virtual environment.

Several examples of applications are mentioned in the Apple patent, and CTOnews.com shares one of them as follows: the camera in the head display can be used to track the movement of the finger in the other palm to detect the trajectory of the finger on the other hand, thus enabling operations such as opening documents, page scrolling, GUI interaction, and so on, in the virtual world.
