CTOnews.com April 13 news, National Public Radio (NPR) released an announcement on its website, announced to abandon the Twitter platform, 52 official accounts on the platform will no longer update content.
The cause of the incident was a controversial operation by Elon Musk, chief executive of Twitter, which first marked NPR as "state-run media" (State-Affiliated Media), but marked it as "state-funded media" (government-funded media) a few days later.
NPR expressed its views on "government-funded media" in a press release, which CTOnews.com translated as follows: "it is inaccurate and misleading that NPR is a private non-profit company with editorial independence. NPR accounts for no more than 1 per cent of the $300m annual budget published by federal funding.
