April 19 news, the decline in chip demand caused by the decline in demand for consumer electronic products in the second half of last year is still continuing, and many chip manufacturers have been affected, and chip contract manufacturer TSMC is no exception. Their revenue has declined in the fourth quarter of last year, and it is expected that revenue in the first quarter of this year will decline compared with the same period last year.

There is no sign of improvement in chip demand, which means that the relevant chip manufacturers will be affected for a longer time, and the performance of TSMC and other manufacturers this year will probably also be affected.

For TSMC's revenue this year, sources in the semiconductor industry expect a single-digit year-on-year decline.

According to TSMC's financial results, its revenue last year was $75.881 billion, and if it fell by no more than 10% from a year earlier, its revenue this year would be more than $68.3 billion.

In addition to the decline in revenue, it was reported earlier this week that TSMC would cut its capital expenditure forecast for this year and is expected to disclose new capital spending in its results on Thursday. In its results released on January 12th, TSMC management expected capital expenditure of $32 to $36 billion this year.
