According to CTOnews.com news on April 22, Great Wall Motor reported first-quarter results, down 13.63% from the same period last year; net profit belonging to shareholders of listed companies was 174 million yuan, down 89.34% from the same period last year; and basic earnings per share was 0.02 yuan per share, down 88.89% from the same period last year. Great Wall Motor said that the decline in profits is mainly due to the fact that the reporting period is still in the period of product structure adjustment, based on the pace of new product launch in 2023, increased new energy brand construction and R & D investment.

CTOnews.com obtained from the financial report that Great Wall Motor spent 1.534 billion yuan on research and development in the first quarter, up 210 million yuan from 1.324 billion yuan in the fourth quarter of 2022, while sales expenses rose from 1.051 billion yuan to 1.454 billion yuan.

In terms of sales, Great Wall sold a total of 219968 units from January to March, down 22.41% from the same period last year. Of these, Harvard brand sales were 125800, down 24.58% from the same period last year, down 3403 from the same period last year, down 76.18% from the same period last year, while Great Wall pickup sales were 48800, up 13.65% from the same period last year.
