Cui Dongshu: 67000 new energy rental taxis in March, an increase of 50%

According to the statistics of the China Statistical Yearbook, there are 1.39 million taxis nationwide, while the total sales of new cars in the taxi network in the first quarter of 2017-2023 were about 3.31 million, and the total number of new cars in the six-year taxi network reached 238%.
The analysis points out that the growth rate of sales of new energy rental networks since 2020 is lower than that of overall new energy, but the growth of new energy rental networks accelerated in the first quarter of 2023, reaching the level of 67000 units in March and 50 per cent higher than the all-time high in 2022.
In 2018, new energy vehicles accounted for only 34% of new car-booking on the rental network. It will reach 84% by 2022. It still reached 82% in the first quarter of 2023, especially 90% in December 2022.
CTOnews.com learned from the report that the proportion of electric car rental networks was 13% in 2017 and 82% by 2022. The proportion of plug-in hybrid also reached 1% in 2022. In 2023, plug-in hybrid accounted for 3%, total new energy accounted for 82%, and hybrid taxis accounted for 3%.
