CTOnews.com has reported that last year Digitimes reported that Apple would diversify its MacBook Pro production in order to produce it in more locations across China. For many years, Apple has been committed to extending MacBook Pro production to a number of companies and countries. In addition, MacBook Air 13-inch production will gradually be transferred to the Wentai Technology Plant in Kunming, southwest China.

Sources estimate that Apple eventually intends to let Quanta produce 55 per cent of the MacBook, while Foxconn is responsible for 35 per cent and Wentai 10 per cent.
