Hefei will build a deep space science city, focusing on 12 research directions in 4 major fields.

On April 24, CTOnews.com, at the 2023 "China Space Day" home event and China Aerospace Congress, Hefei, Anhui Province, released the conceptual plan of Deep Space Science City.

Hefei will be the core of the future Great Science City of Hefei, which is under construction of 19.2 square kilometers, and plans to build a 1.3 square kilometer deep space science city to build a world-class comprehensive research base for deep space exploration. It focuses on 12 research directions in four major fields: deep space technology, deep space science, deep space resources and deep space security. The Deep Space Science City can meet the work and life needs of at least 8000 scientists.
